Sylvan Grouse Guild Medal

Thank you to the Board of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society for awarding me the Sylvan Grouse Guild Medal. Six lifetime points are required for induction; I earned ten points in one year with consecutive wins at the annual PWS juried exhibition, 2008 and 2009. It is a really beautiful (and heavy!) engraved bronze medal, and I'm honored to receive it. I was also awarded Signature Membership in PWS.

Thank you for visiting my blog.
I have been following yours on and of for some time . . .
Congrats on the award! In Denmark watercolor paintings are not valued much, but in Sweden and Norway, our scandinavian neighbor countries, it's highly appreciated.

Congrats! Wow, ten points! So what did you do for the extra points,... save the town from sure creative death by oil painting? I can just see you in your Zoro costume and sword! Hmm,... the inspiration never ends! Beautiful Award, and well deserved!

Nice one, Nick! It almost looks like an Olympic medal but then, it would have to be gold not bronze!! And great to have an actual symbol of success to put in your home.

Amigo Alex - still waiting on that visit to the States, we'd have a great time...but it's gonna be tennis, not golf!

Nancy - my friends Dake and Bill Moore suggested sportin' it with a chain, some nifty platforms, and heading downtown...wonder how long it would take to get my ass kicked! ha ha ha

Yup, a MUCH bigger trophy case is needed. 10 points in one year?! You must be doing something right. Congrats, Nick..once again!

A big hug friend Nick

Anita - nice to meet you, and thanks for the post. I'll be over to check out your blog anon

Billie - everything goes into a large dark metal film-noirish-looking piece of office furniture filing cabinet in the storage room. Nobody visiting our home would have a clue I do anything in art, except for the banner covering the upper story dormers, and the civil defense loudspeaker mounted on top of the minivan. Other than that...

Juankar - be watching for the postman... I cant' touch you with a paintbrush, but I'm going to slay you with musical fireworks!

Wayne - I was serious in my post to Billie ^^^^ It's very nice to get the awards, but perhaps not healthy to dwell on. The signature memberships are also appreciated, but you couldn't pay me to put any initials after my name, except maybe for F.O.L. (father of Larissa!) :)

Rob - nice to hear that, thanks so much, and I return the sentiment!

Congratulations!! It's a prize well deserved. I love your work.

Ouch! Sorry about the sore toe - at least it wasn't your hand so yu can still play the guitar and paint :)
I love what you said about the letters after your name! FOL :) What a wonderful thought and how true it's about what's truly, all-the-time, important! Kudos to you for that.
