Walk On Water - Master Watercolors

I have two new friends in Belgium who have generously devoted space on their blogs to my work, in connection with the upcoming exhibition in Seneffe.

Catherine De Ryck has a fascinating watercolor blog, Walk On Water, that is well worth bookmarking. An award-winning professional artist with a very fine technique and eye for detail, she is influenced by Roland Palmaerts, and is well-acquainted with contemporary painters of note. Catherine also has a serious interest in the development of modern art materials, and mixed media approaches to watercolor.

Paul Scorpion has been running the Master Watercolors blog for a few years, highlighting a number of famous and respected artists. I've discovered some fantastic painters of the past and present I didn't know about thanks to him, including one of my current faves, José Parlá. Paul is an accomplished painter himself, and I expect one of these days he'll get talked into featuring himself on his own blog!

Thank you Catherine and Paul, and I look forward to meeting you both at the opening!

Good heavens! Being a famous and very popular artist and workshop instructor certainly has it's drawbacks with all the travelling you'll be doing in 2010 - but if you enjoy it, enjoy it completely (and buy stock in Starbucks!). It won't be long before I'll say, "I knew him when..."

Thank you very much for your kind words, Nick. I really value them and am glad to count you among my watercolor friends !
Also thank you for the link to Roland's website, I'm sure he will appreciate that.
See you on next Friday !

Rhonda - no such thing as fame in watercolor, haven't you heard? Sargent had the right idea: paint in oil, make a lot of money, then spend your golden years daubing under an umbrella!

Catherine - there is going to be some scary watercolor talent in attendance. You'll find me outside parking cars. :)

Hi Nick,
Thank you for stopping by my blog, and for the kind words. I'm glad to find yours, too. I can't wait to check out the links.

Nick, since you're coming to Belgium, I'm wondering if you know the music of one of our favorite sons, Jacques Brel. Some of your music and some of your art reminds me of Jacques...

jgr - I'll be back to check it out again soon, you're a smokin' artist

Cecile - it's a sad day when Rod McKuen gets his hands on one of your songs!

Re "Walk on water" .. Yes I've had a look at Catherine' De Ryck's Walk on Water blog and it's full of diverse accomplished aquarelles imo AND drawings. (As you know, I admire diversity in an artists's work.) Some of the latter really caught my eye: brilliant. She generously has provided links to many sites.

In Europe, Nick, can you pls say a special "hi" to Janine Gallizia, Catherine De Ryck, Stéphane Heurion, and other mutual acquaintances you may bump into along the way...
Enjoy... +don't get too tired!
cheers
Wayne
