The new October 2010 issue of The Artist's Magazine has a feature I wrote about the Shanghai Zhujiajiao exhibition (see earlier posts here and here re the judging and opening) on The Artist's Life page (edited by Cherie Haas). Photos include my wife Olga at the opening with my painting Russian Woman, myself with the other judges, some of the award winners, and the lucky shot I got in the water village of Zhou Zhuang. Sorry about the low-res pic -- if you don't subscribe, please go out and buy this excellent magazine!

I'm sure this will include a lot of what you already blogged about but it will be nice to revisit such a fun time! Love the painting you submitted! You should do a series......
Such great coverage for this event!
So when is the next trip to China and their next big show??? WOnderful article.
Hi Nick - guess I should be receiving it soon and look forward to reading your article.
I will run out and get the magazine! Congratulations!!
Nice to see that US magazines are interested in this exhibition and promote it all over the world. You should have actively contributed to this so thank you Nick !
Nicholas they picked the right guy for the job/adventure. Can't think of anyone else who'd better represent the western watercolor scene.. and I don't mean cowboy stuff. Your many speaking engagements and other articles you've penned have all been based on your work in the trenches... like Ohio. Moreover what a fantastic opportunity and experience to be in Shanghai mixing in with the other artists. Can't wait to see the print at my local Borders!
You shared the experience of a lifetime to attend the Shanghai exhibit.
I will have to find this magazine and have a closer look. Great stuff.
Nancy - nice to have coverage of it in such a good magazine. a raincheck on the series, but it will return
Jean - every little bit helps!
Sandy - I was invited to the Lushan festival this summer, but will have to do that another time. Hoping to return to Shanghai soon, and of course you will be entering a piece in the next biennial if I have anything to say about it!
Deb - just keep the excitement to a minimum for awhile, please!! hope you're feeling better
Cheryl - this issue also features an artist I admire very much, Kim Cogan
Catherine - it was honor to be asked, and a pleasure to help promote
Bill - ha ha, the trenches...they're still there, I'm back at the USO dancing with Rita Hayworth. Care to cut in? :)
Jeanette - nice to see you, appreciate the post. I'm way behind in the blogosphere and will catch the next express
It was great to open the newest mag and see your article, Nick. Love that shot of the canal, too.
Rhonda - great magazine, published a stone's throw from your driveway!
