Nassau #2 - 28" x 53" - Da Vinci fluid acrylicThis acrylic watercolor painting is composed from photographs I took in Nassau a couple months ago. It's probably a bit of a nod to Bill Moore, and aptly so - we wish he and Yinghua a bon voyage to a new home and new life in the Windy City!

I like it! So is it acrylic and photo montage? I was given a brand new Iwata airbrush kit ($800 worth!). I'm hoping to combine airbrushing with paint brushing (acrylic) and do some abstracts. Anyway, your work is very inspirational. Looking forward to seeing more! Thanks for adding me to your links.
David - thanks for stopping by. It's all painted, but I first composed it out of photos. Airbrush work usually looks too slick for me...but then it's supposed to, isn't it?
this is bordering on the abstract, Nick. in fact it really is abstract! it 'reads' as a sign post to me. i've never worked with acrylics, fluid or otherwise. i wouldn't have guessed you could create blooms with acrylic. interesting.....
Billie - fluid acrylic thinned with water behaves pretty much precisely as regular watercolor. I normally use it transparently, and in this painting also incorporated some opaque sections. It does look fairly abstract, but maybe you can see the profile of the figure in it....makes a lot more sense when you see the first piece in the series (I'll post that soon).
Nicholas.. had a safe landing in Chicago.. thanks for sending good travel vibes our way. Your painting packs a whollop right to the frontal lobe and ripples all the way to the reptilian cortex. Great structure (design), color, and overall mastery. The adventure begins.. again!
Bill - glad to hear you're there in one piece. Can you see some WKM influence here? Looking forward to seeing you create some turbulence in that quaint little hamlet.
