женщина в беседке

Which translates roughly to "woman in arbor." This is a collage of two paintings which I made into a giclée. The image is 30" x 30" on Hahnemuhle paper.

Nick, IMO you're on the verge of cubism with this one but it works for me!

Alex - thanks for visiting amigo! Everyday your jewel of a landscape is the first painting I see. :)

Juan - while putting this together I actually thought it might be something that would appeal to you!

Billie - it doesn't seem that far out to me, but I can't be objective. I am happy with it, works for me too.

Lost - probably the glare of the photo off the white spots, gives it a metallic sheen

wow. what can i say.you gave me some advice on a figurative piece i did "waif") where you suggested a treatment which i think is what you have used in this terrific piece.

this is sensational. i think the killer passage is the hot streak of vibration through the hair - this is "OTC" as you would say.

yes it all settles and vibrates like concentric waves through the piece and this is picked up in the spoke-y drips.

yeah. sensational...

i think i may need to re-energize my "waif" pieces now i see what you meant.

thanks man...

Good to see the chains getting a generous dose of acid. It's very cool Nick!

An excellent piece to sit with while I sip my coffee and groove on all the passages - some secret and others explicit. This painting demands viewer interaction by nature of the abstracted woman's figure. I always enjoy when the mind tries to lay habitual (known) patterns on the field of view - the pattern doesn't quite fit or match and tension arises. "What's going on in that face?" my mind wonders... the mind pauses and lets the painting take over.. a moment now where the world is a magical place.

Hey Joel, I can't remember what OTC means! The two pictures it was made from exist, but they were merged in Photoshop - so a virtual collaboration. I remember the waifs! I'll be over in a minute...

Dake - there is an acidity to it, but I couldn't put my finger on it until you wrote it. No surprise!

Bill - no apololgies or excuses for not actually painting it, esp since it is made from paintings. Your silkscreen endeavors are making me think about other modes and mediums. In the meantime, the coffee gets cold.

OTC = "Off the Charts"...
