Sorolla Video

Here is a very good 15 minute video of the current Sorolla retrospective at the Prado, with subtitled comments by the curators. I wish I could see this show! Thanks to Iain Vellacott for putting the link on his blog.

The exhibition catalog is available here.

Gracias, Nick, for sharing this link! What a glorious way to begin the morning, coffee in hand, slowly savoring the paintings and learning more about this master painter!

Museums and the paintings therein: at least some evidence of enlightenment from the homo sapien camp. Sorolla - the man could swing a loaded brush and make it count. Wonder if he ever put an elbow of his suit in titanium white - or was it zinc.. perhaps lead? Thanks for the post Nicholas ... wonder what the man would paint in the 21st century? hmmm

Rhonda - great little vid, isn't it?

Bill - I often the same thing: what would Bach, Sargent, Sorolla, Chopin et al be producing today? (in the case of Mark Twain, I have a feeling he'd be writing precisely what he wrote then)
