Seneffe, Belgium Exhibition

I'm privileged to be exhibiting next month in the Seneffe, Belgium watercolor expo. Janine Gallizia, Joseph Zbukvic, Xavier Swolfs, Marc Folly and Stéphane Heurion will be participating, and I'm going over to meet them for the opening, October 16. The show runs through October 25, during which time I'll be going to Spain to meet with many friends from the Hispacuarela website, as well as doing research for a commission. I can't wait!

However, a few folks are bound to be less than enthusiastic about my involvement in this exhibition, as you'll see by clicking on the video below! Hope you enjoy it, feel free to rate and comment. :)

Nick.....what a great exhibition...the stuff is fantastic, you are one of the best groups of painters. It's a pitty not to be there, at least me... Well , I'll be happy if it becomes reallity the oportunity to met you in Spain.
The video.....ja,ja,ja, I don't have words to calificate it..wonderfull, amazing, nice ...artistic, with a lot of creativity...

PG - it's all for good yucks, but I suppose I can't resist taking a few shots at the Establishment!

Bill - not that much of an exaggeration, as part of the fuhrer's 1000 yr Reich was to get art back to its "rightful" place by banishing the "daubers." You and I would be making little rocks out of big rocks under Himmler's watchful eye...or likely worse.

Teresa - he was right about one thing, since I can't even get a blasted printer or scanner to work with Vista, let alone something fancy like a Wacom. A new Mac is on the to-do list!

Enrique - I will see you soon, we can laugh about this over a sangria :)

Susan - as I was just saying to someone, the "purists" spend too much time staring at the dart....instead of the dartboard.

Don - funny you should say that - film is the final, biggest frontier IMO. I've done the music, the visuals, the writing...acting is easy, just need the cash!!!

You'd have to say that despite the hard times(as I've heard are about) that you've flourished AGAIN!
I've no idea where Adolf gets his information.
Talentless! Indeed!

Nick said...

Rhonda - yes very true, which is a sad commentary on a segment of the watercolor world that is more interested in rules than art.

Clem - it would be great to see you there, I hope you can make it!

Dake - we've encountered our share of this kind of idiocy, haven't we?! I don't think it's a coincidence that the watercolor nazis who think like der fuhrer are also 99% of the time dreadful painters (can't use the term "artists").

Too funny! Wish I could photoshop like that! Congrats on your show. Cheers!

Nick said...

Tonya - you can download the clip (from the movie "Downfall") from a few sites, and I added the subtitles with Windows Movie Maker.
I like your new work a lot, pedal to the metal!

Nick, so now you're Quentin Tarantino? This is more special because I just saw "Basterds" last week. I will certainly blog about this "Bad Watercolor Day for Hitler". Your friend, n

Nicholas.. there is another w moore? Just got to have him change the middle initial to k. The only positive quality the nazis had (in my mind) was they were snappy dressers. The rest is told in detail in the history books. The nazis in our own country don't have any redeeming qualities unless you like mullets and misquotes (not mosquitoes nor mesquites) of the bible. These people take animal husbandry to new levels .. if you know what I mean. Now.. about your trip to europe.. have a fantastic time and don't spare your Bond-like savoir-faire for any reason(s). Monte Carlo awaits and the baccarat table opens at 10. Bring back the bacon and foie gras – oh yeah don’t forget that soda water takes out most stains on the black tie.

all the best for the exhibition !

Nancy - nice to see you. When it comes to directors with a lot of Ts, it would have to be Tornatore for me. And when he teams up with Morricone, it's all over. The Anti-Hollywood!

WK - Superpages says there are 300 Bill Moores in the US, but only one Bill Moore. Ach! the nazis certainly did have by far the coolest uniforms, probably why I crossed over to the dark side playing army as a kid. They had the coolest machine guns, too (MP40). My best chance of getting into the Monte Carlo Casino would be in a lamé gown and falsies, on the arm of a blind billionaire. (I'd do it)

HdJa - nice to meet you, thanks for posting!

Nick said...

Sandy - lots of people have used this clip to do funny things with (search on Youtube), but I hadn't seen anyone do it with art/watercolor. And since he was an "artist/watercolorist"...

Cynthia - thanks for visiting and posting, I appreciate it. Hope to see you again! bis bald

WOW!!!! This an amazingl and highly creative work of art Nick!!! Video and the content and timing of subtitles is so funny!! -- I watched it over and over!! Iconoclastic+++. Parodies the pointlessness of 'standstills' in contemporary watermedia. You're an artist always on the move, and I admire you for a 'creative restlessness' as evidenced here in extending your art to the video medium. Congrats Nick, and best for your forthcoming European exhibition! cheers Wayne

Hello Nicholas,
I am a Belgian artist who lives not far from Seneffe and will visit this exhibition.
I already wish you a great success.
See you soon !

Randall said...

Yeah that was funny Nick. To bad my sound on my computer went off. The subtitles helped a lot.

I found your blog through Wetcanvas. Man you have a ton of post in there. I was searching for someone elses thread to and stumbled on a post you made and thought I would check your site out to see what you got. Then I saw your painting of Bay St. Girl
and remembered seing it from somewhere and then it clicked it was a watercolor mag. Cool.

OMG too funny, even my 3 year old watching it with me was cracking up, or maybe he was laughing at me falling off my chair ;)

Congrats on the show as well!

Laughing Out Loud!! - at least he didn't get upset about putting salt on watercolor paper! Very good clip! No wonder they say he was a frustrated artist!
