Upcoming Workshops

More workshops have been added to the schedule for the next couple of years. Next week I'll be doing one for the California Watercolor Association, which you can read about in the current newsletter. (thank you for the great write-up!). Next month I'll be in Florida for a few days at beautiful Amelia Island and a new venue for me, Amelia Island Artist Workshop. I'm looking forward to that, I've heard wonderful things about it from other artists. I believe there are still spaces available, see contact info below.

2011 includes a watercolor expo at the Burchfield Penney Art Center in Buffalo, five days at the incredible Manoir de Maison Blanche in France, and a return to Idyllwild in the San Jacinto mountains. 2012 includes workshops and judging major shows for San Diego Watercolor Society, Florida Watercolor Society, and others. Nicholas, Im most disappointed Im unable to make the workshop in Amelia Isl. I was recently there and loved the entire excperience! (w'shop with Jane Angelhart)
ANYWAY - tell me please is your DVD similiar to the workshop?
I go back and forth with wanting to be large and bold (in oil)and smaller more representational of people (in watercolor) and cant seem to find waht I want....exxcept knowing mood, story telling are common thread for me.
Would love to get more freedom of the water and paint and also the representation and mood of a person/environment!!
SO....dvd similiar to the workshop??
ps- if youve not yet met Mikolean, she is great!!

Just adding my 2 cents worth --- I've been able to take 2 of Nick's workshops, and the DVD is a added compliment to the workshop experience. Nick shares so much during the workshop time and tosses in lots of extra surprises along the way. The DVD is so well done, yet if I hadn't been at his workshops, I would've missed huges amounts of instruction that were vital. He is continually evolviong as an artist and shares so much more than the focus of the DVD. Hope anyone who can makes the time and effort to be attend at least one of his workshops.

Hi Nick, I'm so excited that you will be in So Cal next summer. I went to the SDWS site and you aren't listed in their workshop list so you may want to let them know. I hope that one will work into my schedule and I'll FINALLY be able to take a workshop from you.

Laine - thank you for the message, and yes, the DVD incorporates many of the things I do in workshops. I'm looking forward to Amelia Island, sorry you won't be there. :(

Mary Lou - it was fantastic to see you in CA again, and thanks so much for bringing Joyce to the workshop!

Sandy - that's very kind of you to say....if I can paint and teach half as well as you do, I'll be very pleased. It's not easy, and you are a true pro!

Nancy - the SDWS workshop and show is for 2012, they probably don't list it this early. Hope I meet you out there, I hear it's an exciting event

Nancy LeeG - you hardly need me anymore, you're on a serious roll!

Catherine - that would be wonderful, I was sorry not to have been able to come over in July for the Tour. we'll cross paths again I'm sure :)

Hello Nick,
I'll be at Maison Blanche next year, with good friends and fellow artists.
They asked me if you will work with watercolor paints, fluid acrylics or both ?
I'll be very happy to meet you again and to paint together will be a great experience !

Catherine - I can't think of a better place to rendezvous again, we didn't really get enough time in Belgium. Thanks so much for all of your support and friendship. :)
